Brief Summary

The Quality Micro Technologist Clerk reports to the Quality Manager and leads the implementation, execution and continuous improvement of the plant Microbial Monitoring Programs.  Promotes the microbial program and the continuous improvement of the cleaning program.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, setting up, and carring out micrbial, environmental and allergen swabbing and analysis per schedule.
  • Responsible for recommending changes and/or improvements for the microbial programs.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory and purchasing of supplies for preparing standard solution for micro testing.
  • Works closely with the Sanitation deparment to correct and improve deficienecies found.
  • Responsible for documenting resutls, writing reports, reviewing samples and analyzing data,
  • Collects all the data reltad to the Micro program such as temperatures, relative humidity, personnel activites, traffic, etc.
  • Prepares the necessary samples to send to external lab.
  • Documents all samples and enters the results (internal and external) in the appropriate reports.
  • Stores chemecials in a safe environment and maintains chemical SDS log up to date.
  • Follow Good Lab Practices by performing lab cleanup, keepign work area clean, operating, and maintaining lab equipment in working condition.
  • Trains other technicians as necessary.
  • Ensures all food safety principles and legal requirements have been applied effectively.
  • Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promoted teamwork.
  • Works in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements.
  • Participates in monthly departmental meetings.
  • Must work various shifts and hours including holidays and weekends.
  • Performs any other tasks as assigned.

Experience: 2 years of work experience in a laboratory environment required. Prefer experience in microbial lab work.
