Responsible for developing and directing all sales operations activities for the assigned division within the Region. Manage profit and sales budgets for the assigned division and ensure division’s sales management are accountable to achieve results. Recommend key programs. Ensure that a motivated, knowledgeable, and well-trained sales management team is in force. 

 

  • Ensure achievement of the profit and sales plan and expense targets for the division.
  • Direct the development and maintenance of effective relationships with the sales team and customers.
  • Direct the development of accounts through effective selling, coordination, and execution of sales efforts and activities.
  • Direct the development of sales plans for the division through analysis of competitive activity.
  • Ensure the coordination of sales activities with various internal and external functions to achieve objectives.
  • Ensure sales and profit targets are achieved.
  • Provide for effective staffing, training, development, performance management, and employee relations.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and 5 - 10 years in route/sales management and supervision of managers experience required. * Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

 

  • Work requires experience as an Area Sales Manager and/or Account Sales Manager in retail/grocery products.
  • Work requires experience in supervising sales management employees.
  • Work requires the ability to negotiate effectively and persuade others.
  • Work requires the ability to achieve results through others.
  • Work requires the ability to communicate effectively in oral presentations and in writing.
  • Work may require the ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
  • Work requires the ability to make decisions which effectively impact the business.
  • Work requires a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Work requires knowledge of DSD systems.
