Mission Foods is looking for a talented Modular & Category Analyst to work in Rogers, AR.  The primary function of the Modular & Category Analyst is to support the Tortilla Category Advisory team in driving all facets of the Walmart modular relay process and providing category management support for the Tortilla business at Walmart.  This position will be expected to have direct experience supporting the modular update process including modular drawing capabilities, and space analytics, and to be familiar with the Walmart modular relay process and key category management principles.

 

  • Obtain and analyze, at a detailed level, data from Retail Link and draw modular that match the buyer’s guidelines at an acceptable rate of speed.
  • Build multiple versions of modular and be able to execute modular cut-downs within the guidelines provided.
  • Develop item attributes where necessary and utilize them during the modular process using JDA Space Planning.
  • Assist in all analytical questions and projects preparing for the relay process as well as with key projects.
  • Attend modular update meetings and work sessions with the Walmart buyer for the purpose of modular creation and implementation.
  • Utilize consumer and shopper insights along with category trends to guide on creating modulars that meet consumer demand and provide ease of shopping.
  • Analyze sales and consumer trend data to provide a business assessment on a weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of related industry experience, category management experience preferred.

 *Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Must be computer literate with a degree of proficiency in Windows, Excel, and related software applications.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, communicate effectively, and present a professional image.
  • Experience pulling Retail Link data, Nielsen IRI Panel, etc., analyzing data to actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Knowledge and experience working with JDA Space Planning software and drawing modular accurately and efficiently. Working knowledge of Shelf IQ is a plus.
  • Knowledge and application of key category management best practices
  • Strong ability to draw insights from large datasets, draw conclusions, prioritize, and make recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and have organizational & time management skills. Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Work requires interpersonal, communication, and high analytical skills.  Strong presentation and PowerPoint skills
