Effectively manages and controls multiple Logistics Distribution Centers by running a well maintained, clean, safe, and cost-effective warehouse operation. “Owns” all logistics costs within their defined region. Guarantees that Key Performance Indicators target goals are being met. Monitors and guarantees that the operation is running within budget. Identify and Implement cost-saving/performance improvement opportunities. Actively participate with the Transportation and Sales Areas to recommend/implement changes to reduce our Supply Chain least landed cost. Supports / Recommends the development of Logistics Policies and Procedures and guarantees that they are being communicated to all personnel to the regions under his/her responsibility and that they are being followed as indicated. #zr

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures a safe and sanitary working environment for all employees within the Logistics Distribution Centers.
  • Assists in the sizing and proper utilization/maintenance of the warehouse Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as well as the Transportation Equipment.
  • Annually develops operation budgets and ensures budgets are met providing management with weekly budget expense tracking.
  • Controls inventories levels, safety, and proper rotation thru the assistance of the Manager, supervisors, and inventory control clerks.
  • Guarantees that all daily shipping and receiving activities are carried out as expected to maintain a high level of service.
  • Ensures that all Company Policies and Procedures are known by the personnel under his/her responsibility and that they are being followed.
  • Guarantees that all related operation records are properly maintained (Manual or in System) to ensure compliance to the different outside government entities.
  • Guarantees that all inventory receiving and shipping records are maintained to be able to conduct full products traceability (i.e., Product Recalls, etc.).
  • Guarantees that all Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the operation are being generated and analyzed to make sure they are meeting the expected goals; Recommends changes to meet or better the KPI Goals.
  • Manages and Controls thru the help of Managers, Supervisors, and Inventory Clerks the reduction/elimination of our inventory shrinkage and spoils.
  • Guarantees that Physical Inventories are conducted accurately and periodically at each Distribution center to comply with company policies.
  • Participate with our transportation provider and Sales Areas to continually reduce our Total Supply Chain Cost or to improve our Distribution Operation.
  • Prepare, review, and present the weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of the Areas under his/her responsibility. (i.e., Cost by Area, Inventory Shrinkage-Spoils, Delivery Service, Manpower, project updates, etc.).
  • Conducts routine meetings with the supply chain on issues impacting facilities within responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Warehouse Management, Logistics, Business, or related field required. 3 years of experience in Warehouse/Logistics/Shipping required. Bakery or food/beverage environment preferred. With a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity in a logistics/manufacturing environment required. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Management of multiple Distribution Centers with Shipping, Receiving, Distribution – Warehousing and Transportation preferred.
  • Familiar with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Labor Management System (LMS).
  • Knowledgeable of Quality Systems and programs.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and team-building initiatives.
  • Knowledgeable in budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Extensive experience in operation cost analysis.
  • Familiar with Project Management tools and applications.
  • Experience in the handling of raw materials and finished goods Inventory systems.
  • SAP- supply chain applications.
  • Extensive experience in warehouse/logistics management roles with proven track record in leading teams to improve continuously the efficiency of methods.
  • Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors).
  • Lean Manufacturing Theory, (Preferred)
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Team management/leadership/development skills, including the ability to manage people in an organization matrix and get the best out of them, successful in building and mentoring high performance teams.
  • Maturity, self-confidence, and strong communication skills will be critical for this role.
  • Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and small areas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred.

 

 

Salary Range: $99,000.00 - $102,000.00 plus $7k annual Bonus
