Our plant in Omaha, NE is looking for an experienced Plant Manager. The Plant Manager manages and directs the Production, Maintenance and Production Administration functions of the plant. He/she ensures that operations are conducted within the guidelines established by GMP’s, producing products which meet or exceed customer and company quality expectations in a safe environment and that costs, efficiencies and volume targets are maintained at or better than budgeted or standard levels. He/she leads the plant’s effort in the area of continuous improvement including but not limited to food safety, the controlling or reduction of direct and variable product costs and overhead, and the development of the Operations Management Team.
- Directs the coordination of all manufacturing departments’ functions to ensure compliance with Company objectives, Quality Systems, and Customer Satisfaction.
- Assists in establishing quality specifications and ensures plant employees meet specifications.
- Promotes plant safety through the education of employees, directing the safety committee, leads the creation of safety programs and incentives.
- Provides a safe working environment for all plant employees.
- Services sales at 100% service goal.
- Establishes, maintains, and strives to improve productivity standards.
- Prepares annual manufacturing budget
- Analyzes costs of plant improvements
- Is responsible for the financial results of plant operations.
- Provides constant coaching, motivation and development for subordinates and assists subordinates in reaching their goals.
- Actively participates in preparing the plant’s strategic operating plan.
- Serves as communication conduit between upper management and plant.
- Executes projects as directed by Vice-President of Manufacturing.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies
- Provides suggestions to improve process, procedures and department in support of company goals
- Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork
- Verifies GMP’s and Safety standards are maintained at all times and take action and/or follow-up when deficiencies are noted
- Ensures compliance with the HACCP program and AIB gold standard
- To protect the brand(s) ensuring compliance to Regulatory and Quality System requirements.
- Reviews activities to ensure conformance to product specifications.
- Monitors and guarantees that products are being manufactured in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Practices.
- Provides training and support; as well as enforcement to the Quality Systems and Food Safety Programs.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field followed by five years of progressive experience in the job offered or management roles in manufacturing. Requires five years of experience in the following:
- Manufacturing management;
- Leading manufacturing teams to improve continuously the efficiency of production methods and the quality of products;
- Operating within relevant regulatory requirements, e.g., FDA, OSHA, EPA, USDA, EEO, etc., Quality Assurance/Control and Cost Systems;
- Manufacturing safety concepts, applications, and committees;
- LEAN manufacturing strategies applied in a large-scale complex environment;
- Financial management to include budget and analysis of projects and programs to ensure an acceptable return on investment is achieved;
