Our plant in New Brighton, MN  is looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager evaluates and directs resources engaged in preventive and corrective maintenance, small projects and other activities determined by business need. The maintenance manager is responsible for enforcing all safety rules and regulations, food safety GMPs, and all other business-related regulations.

 

Maintenance Manager Responsibilities

  • Adjusts work plans and schedules to meet short- and long-term priorities.
  • Manages weekly preventive maintenance program, tracks results and correlates with production downtime, waste, and quality issues.
  • Supervises maintenance personnel and contractors throughout the day, with focus on work quality and efficiency.
  • Enforces all safety rules, good manufacturing practices, department and company policy.
  • Utilizes downtime reports issued by the Plant engineer to identify equipment that operates most inefficiently and prioritize accordingly.
  • Ensures that line team assignments are adhered to and that the concept of line and equipment ownership is in place. Holds mechanics accountable for these assignments and resulting
  • equipment performance.
  • Coordinates, leads, and/or participates in training department personnel based on business need.
  • Ensures that all personnel follow spare parts ordering and sign out procedures whenever they use spare parts.
  • Tracks spare part usage per plan (budget). Identify areas of improvement and/or waste.
  • Monitors and manages department employee overtime to achieve stated objective per business need.
  • Assists in prioritizing work orders with regard to Safety, Quality, and scheduling.
  • Ensures all required paper work is completed correctly. Keeps open lines of communication with the plant employees and management.
  • Continually works to reduce downtime and production waste in a safe and low-cost manner.
  • Follows (LO/TO) all Safety procedures and Company Safety Policy.
  • Coordinates Monthly Safety Training.
  • Responsible for Injury and Illness reporting within 24 hours and analysis/investigations within 48 hours.
  • Develops, plans, executes, sustains small capital & expense projects.
  • Evaluates current safety, waste, productivity, and quality opportunities and lead/participate in appropriate problem-solving methodologies.
  • Enforces and tracks regulatory activities and documentation concerning BRC, AIB, DEP and other safety and operating requirements.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.

Requires three years of experience in the following:

  • Gas tunnel ovens: combustion systems /safety systems /Preventive Maintenance Program;
  • Hydraulic Press;
  • Electric schematics reading/ writing;
  • Pneumatic / Hydraulics schematics reading;
  • ERP System Oracle / SAP;
  • Kaizen projects leadership;
  • Staff training;
  • Project Management;
  • Lean Manufacturing;
  • Total Preventive Maintenance;
  • Reliability centered Maintenance;
  • OSHA standards;
  • ISO 9000.

 

Salary Range $83,700 to $108,700

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishing and delivering against the hiring plan, building and maintaining pipelines of candidates aligned to the Company’s needs.
  • Contribute to the development of overall sourcing channel strategy for the recruiting and selection.
  • Utilize creative staffing/recruitment/sourcing strategies of active and passive candidates.
  • Partner with HR Managers, Hiring Managers and Department Heads to determine requirements for open positions and identify qualified candidates.
  • Work with Hiring Managers to determine interview work flow, interview questions and coach Managers as needed.
  • Review and analyze resumes.
  • Contact and prescreen candidates.
  • Provide recommended applicants to Hiring Managers/HR Managers.
  • Actively source job candidates utilizing various job search websites and social media platforms for potential recruits.
  • Create and maintain candidate pipeline for key positions.
  • Partner with management for on campus and career fair recruiting strategies.
  • Introduce applicants to the company and explain the hiring process.
  • Monitor the job market and prepare analysis as requested.
  • Operate in compliance with all local, state and federal laws as well as Company policy and compliance standards.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
