Plant Engineer

Our plant in Mountain Top, PA is looking for an experienced Plant Engineer. The Plant Engineer is responsible for maintaining plant machinery including emergency repairs. The specific duties and responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Manages the preventive maintenance program in accordance with the company policy.
  • Instructs the sanitation department on proper operating, cleaning and caring for equipment and machinery.
  • Expedites work assignment to the maintenance employees.
  • Monitors the performance of the maintenance department.
  • Enforces safe work practices in the maintenance department.
  • Maintains continuous communication with the production and sanitation supervisors including problem reporting to assure product quality and timely execution of assignments.
  • Responsible for keeping loss time at minimum, by assuring that all equipment and machinery is properly functioning.
  • Assures that new maintenance employees are properly trained.
  • Ensures the maintenance department submits boiler and fire protection reports appropriately, as required.
  • Maintains a daily log of repairs and occurrences within the plant.
  • Assists in the installation of equipment.
  • Documents and investigates all accidents within the maintenance department.
  • Assures that maintenance employees are using protective apparel and equipment.
  • Maintains continuous communication with the maintenance manager to expedite equipment repairs and work assignments.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or a maintenance supervisor role in manufacturing. Requires three years of experience in the following:

 

  1. Developing preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
  2. Managing a maintenance department budget.
  3. Creating key performance indicators for a maintenance department.
  4. Overseeing major repairs or installation of equipment.
  5. Developing capital expense projects.
  6. Implementing and designing PLC control systems for industrial equipment (PLC programing Advance knowledge (Allen Bradley).
