 The Warehouse Manager performs various functions to maintain the quality of the product during the phase of Handling, Storage and Delivery.

Directly responsible for food safety and quality by ensuring, equipment and facilities, training and education of all employees, reviewing and auditing performance, and driving continuous improvement.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manages the daily operations of the Warehouse Department

· Develop, implement and follow-up plans to accomplish departmental goals and objectives as per budget.

· Enforces Company, plant and department policies and procedures and work instructions including but not limited to safety policies, GMP’s, HAACP and AIB standards.

· Daily review of documents on all shipments of product.

· Coordinate with the Warehouse Supervisor all the necessary documentation and information regarding the Warehouse operation

· Reconcile with Production Department on weekly basis

· Reconcile with Accounts Receivable all Sales on a daily basis.

· Provide and Maintain an Inventory of Supplies needed for the operation of the warehouse.

· Assist Customer Service as needed.

· Provide to the Distribution Manager all the necessary information regarding all shipments of product.

· Substitute for Distribution Manager as necessary.

· Resolves Customer claims as related to the Warehouse. Recommend the hiring of personnel and overseeing special job training.

· Keep employees informed on factors relating to their work assignment, work progress, and opportunity for advancement.

· Evaluate, as deemed necessary by the company, the performance of new and existing employees.

· Schedule vacation of the warehouse supervisors and employees.

· Establish and maintain productivity standards.

· Perform other duties as required.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Warehouse Management, Logistics, Business, or related field required.
  • 5 years of experience in Warehouse/Logistics/Shipping required. Bakery or food/beverage environment preferred.
  • With a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity in a logistics/manufacturing environment required.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Hiring teams to improve continuously the efficiency of methods. Extensive experience in warehouse/logistics management roles with a proven track record in leadership
  • Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors).
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Team management/leadership/development skills, including the ability to manage people in an organization matrix and get the best out of them, successful in building and mentoring high-performance teams.
  • Maturity, self-confidence, and strong communication skills will be critical for this role.
  • A multicultural approach to operating in a diverse business environment. Comfortable communicating and operating within an internationally matrixed environment.
  • Budget preparation and Cost analysis
  • Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and small areas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Effectively communicate in Spanish and English both verbal and written (desirable depending on region)
