Our Mission Foods facility in Jefferson GA is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to proudly work at this facility. The Production Supervisor directs, plans, controls, and monitors the overall operation of the production department lines under the direct supervision of the Department Manager. The ideal candidate will provide direct supervision of a team of up to 35 employees.
- Ensures that all processing activities are in conformance with product specifications and GMP’s.
- Verify, control, and assure that all production parameters are within the planned budget.
- Serve as a liaison between Department Managers and Hourly Employees.
- Schedule work assignments, vacations, and days off for the Hourly Employees.
- Verifies labor hours and payroll report accuracy.
- Responsible for assessing the needs and provide training to employees and document training.
- Responsible for conducting monthly safety and quality sessions as required and keep adequate documented records.
- Resolve team conflict and issue documented disciplinary actions and recognition.
- Set specific and measurable goals for the department’s continuous improvement.
- Follow and direct company regulations.
- Accountable for ensuring that all safety policies and regulations are enforced.
- Responsible for safety training, enforcement of safety rules/policies as well as drug control policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 3 years of production experience in a manufacturing plant required. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity or 4 years as a Lead in production required. *Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Experience in manufacturing supervisory role with a proven track record in leading manufacturing teams.
- Bilingual Spanish / English required.
- Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors)
- Experience with Quality Systems and Programs
- Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices, LEAN Manufacturing, 5's, World Class Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma.
- A multicultural approach to operating in a diverse business environment. Comfortable communicating and operating within an internationally matrixed environment.
- Able to perform simple analysis.
- SAP & Kronos knowledge preferred.
- Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time.
- Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and small areas.
- Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
- Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
- Be able to lift to 50lbs.

Job Responsibilities
Supervises daily production team by confirming, delegating, coordinating and informing employees of the processing of orders as well as departmental work scheduling.
Works with team to produce all orders while maintaining or exceeding departmental KPIs (e.g., waste, moistures, efficiencies, downtime, line speed, overweights, etc.) & meeting customer and company specifications.
Ensures all quality specifications are followed and issues corrective actions on non-conforming product
Effectively communicate company, plant, and department priorities across all levels.
Communicates any issues during the shift, across all levels, as appropriate (e.g., production orders, safety hazards, etc.).
Verifies controls and ensures all production parameters are within planned budget.
Responsible for performing shift reports in a timely manner according to with work instruction.
Conducts monthly safety and quality session as required and keep adequate records.
Performs and documents daily Supervision Audits.
Enforce company, plant, and departmental policies and procedures and work instructions including but not limited to safety policies, GMP's, HAACP standards, AIB standards.
Hires, trains, counsels, monitors work, assigns work, disciplines, and terminates employees.
Orients new employees and trains on department-related activities.
Reports injuries and illnesses within 24 hours and perform analysis/investigations within 24 hours.
Provides feedback at regular intervals to team members & conducts performance evaluations of assigned team members.
Identifies areas of opportunity and training necessary or useful for development with team members and develops team members to perform at or above company expectations.
Maintains knowledge of plant quality systems.
Appropriately handles employee concerns and complaints.
Conducts pre-shift and shift-change meetings with appropriate team members to communicate issues, concerns, and information.
Performs walkthroughs of production areas with leads, focusing on equipment performance, product quality, housekeeping, safety, and food safety.
Schedules team to meet production goals, including approving and scheduling team member vacations.
Monitors time-keeping system (Kronos), verifies payroll hours, transfers hours as appropriate and resolves any discrepancies.
Maintains teamwork, consistency, and fairness among all employees to foster a positive work environment within the department, plant and entire organization.
Ensures all food safety principles and legal requirements have been applied effectively.
Participates actively in LEAN, process improvement and other company initiatives.
Effectively communicates with production lead to prevent break and lunch delays by making all necessary arrangements to comply with break and lunchtime regulations.
Verifies lot numbers and forms daily to guarantee compliance with quality system, customer, BRC and AIB regulations.
Creates employee schedule in ADP system on weekly basis and maintains accurate records of times for future reference.
Ensures fair and appropriate distribution of employee working hours per week.
Monitors ADP system daily for time and schedule discrepancies.
