Procurement Manager | Warehouse & Logistics Category | Irving, TX

Under limited supervision, the Procurement Manager is responsible for all purchasing functions under its assigned category. Procurement upstream and downstream functions fall under this position nationwide. This position requires self-driven, empathic, collaborative, and approachable qualities which are some core capabilities expected of this individual.  This position may report to a Procurement Director or Procurement VP.

Salary Range: 92k-108k (BOE)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze expenditure, strategize sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor qualification, negotiate and execute supply agreements, execute purchase orders, and payment processing follow-up, are some of the activities that fall under this position role.
• Ensure and standardizing procurement business processes and practices are in compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Promote synergies, encourage quality and innovation, ensure transparency, facilitate accountability, and offer efficient service.
• Managing and developing a group of Purchasing Agents/Buyers as category specialists and strengthening their competencies (attitude, aptitude, skills, performance, evolution, knowledge, and passion).
• Ensure the understanding of the needs of Gruma’s internal users through processes and systems that guarantee efficient communication, empathy, collaboration, and proactivity.
• Develop strategic relationships with the best suppliers that offer us catalogs of products and services at the best cost.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a bachelor's degree with at least five years of experience in the field. *Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered for the above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Experience in the contracting process and associated local, state, federal, and other regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; preferably bi-lingual
• Skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
• Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
• Excellent negotiating skills, able to be driven with passion and enthusiasm.
• Ability to conduct spending analysis.
