Under limited supervision, be responsible for all purchasing functions for the Raw and Packaging materials needs for the plant. Provide support to the Material Planners and coordinate with the Sourcing Team to ensure orders are fulfilled.

 

Salary Range: 92k-108k (BOE)

 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Material Management Team and work with the Plants to ensure that all order for Raw and Packaging Materials are fulfilled.
  • Approve all Purchase Orders created by the Material Planners that do not have a contract in place. Also review and approve any expediated freight that may be required.
  • Oversee the Material Management Team personnel, ensure that they have the necessary training and procedures to do their jobs. Interview personnel when necessary to maintain a full Department.
  • Develop and generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to monitor departmental and corporate KPI’s.
  • Work with the Sourcing Team to develop first order amounts and MRP settings for new products being entered into the system.
  • Review the forecasted Demand Requirements against the Consumptions to ensure that orders being placed in MRP are sufficient to keep the plant running.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required.  5-7 years of Procurement experience. *Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

  • Work requires skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

  • Work requires excellent negotiating skills.
  • Work requires the ability to prepare bids, requests for quotes, and proposals in compliance with policies.
  • Work requires basic computer skills.
