Corporate Quality Assurance Coordinator

This position coordinates laboratory testing, supplier qualification, quality documentation, and corrective actions to support the company’s quality, environmental monitoring, microbiological, and supplier approval programs. The role collaborates with manufacturing plants, suppliers, third-party laboratories, and other teams including Procurement, Operations and R&D—to meet regulatory, customer, and company requirements and advance continuous improvement across the organization.

• • • Coordinate supplier audits and follow up on corrective actions and documentation requests.
    • Review audit reports conducted by Mission Foods, including non-conformities and supplier corrective action responses.
    • Review technical documentation required for the approval and qualification of new suppliers.
    • Coordinate current and overdue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) within Intelex and ensure timely follow-up on corrective actions.
    • Oversee external laboratory testing programs, including microbiological, chemical, allergen, and packaging analysis.
    • Monitor environmental microbiological programs and support verification activities.
    • Analyze laboratory data and identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Manage sample submissions, testing requests, result tracking, and communication with third-party laboratories.
    • Develop, review, and maintain ingredients and packaging specifications in SAP PLM and COAAPA.
    • Develop, publish, and maintain quality documentation within Intelex.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, laboratory operations, supplier quality, or food safety within the food manufacturing industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• • • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and laboratory testing requirements.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, R&D, Quality Assurance, and external suppliers.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and project management skills.
    • Experience reviewing technical documents, audit reports, specifications, and corrective action responses.
    • Experience with quality management systems and document control platforms, preferably Intelex.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to develop reports, analyze trends, and communicate findings effectively.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
