This position develops and improves sophisticated models and tools for use by the Foodservice sales staff; e.g. sales performance evaluation and benchmarking for PMP reviews. Support the Foodservice Department’s information requirements through the extraction and consolidation of data from various sources. Create sales forecast and budget including related P&A and Distribution expenses from historical trend analysis and with assumption input from sales managers. Identify problems/opportunities and recommend solutions that will assist the department in meeting reporting and analysis objectives. Participate on cross-functional team projects such as demand planning that improve business operations administration while ensuring the needs and output requirements of the department. Facilitate communication between external business partners and internal technical support and report progress to management and other stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Engineer and administrate the department databases. Analyze accuracy of data, identify and resolve data gaps. Develop and maintain reporting tools that assists sales VPs with insights to end-user sales by product line. Analyze performance trends by distributor and brand.
- Orchestrate the monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts and the annual budget for the entire foodservice department.
- Partner with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to effectively communicate ongoing trends and forecasts for manufacturing.
- Review and analyze trade spend, distribution and allowance expenses.
- Provide monthly reports for GRUMA management that include financial results, customer activity, and mix on allowances.
- Review, analyze and evaluate business operations administration processes for commission payments, price lists, marketing expense reporting, and other user needs within department. Identify and recommend improvement solutions for increased functionality, efficiency and practices. Determine stakeholders and resource requirements needed to implement solution.
- Update Contract management system for updates to customers, products, brokers and user hierarchies.
- Initiate and monitor control mechanisms, reporting to management potential risks and propose solutions or work with stakeholders to resolve.
- Develop and support department’s internal reporting tools. Automate processes for repetitive tasks. Propose tasks for redeployment to better utilize and develop department resources.
- Troubleshoot user issues related to contract program. Communicate to vendor and management issues regarding program and work with vendor and other internal stakeholders to resolve.
- Assist department users with the various software programs that are necessary to operate our business; SAP, Panorama, etc.
- Manage department intranet site. Update links and create pages as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA Preferred. 5-8 years of related industry experience. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
- Work requires expert mastery of MicroSoft Office Suite software, with particular emphasis on Excel, Access with Visual Basic for Applications and SharePoint Designer.
- Work requires advanced SQL programming for Microsoft Access and querying of BI warehouse for SAP data
- Work requires ability to analyze information and resolve problems in individual tasks and in team projects.
- Work requires advanced understanding of mathematical algorithms and reasoning skills.
- Work experience in accounting in the food industry is a plus.
- Work requires ability to understand and utilize accounting and financial principles.
- Knowledge of SAP/R3 system preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple concurrent deadline and switch between projects.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
