Responsible for the procurement of corn, and operation and maintenance of the Corn Storage facilities. Directly responsible for food safety and quality by ensuring equipment, and facilities, training and education of all employees, reviewing and auditing performance, and driving continuous improvement.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  1. Supervise and provide the resources to his/her personnel
  2. Maintain Corn Budget
  3. Administer corn related expenses and costs
  4. Purchase corn according to the AMLP policies and requirements
  5. Direct the selection of variety program-Contact growers prior to planting season.
  6. Check the corn fields during the growing season.
  7. Travel to corn areas.
  8. Establish good relationship with corn growers and other Agribusiness.
  9. Work with cooperators to assure tests plots are planted and harvested.
  10. Sign corn contracts with growers & process or review payment requests.
  11. Collect and analyze Hybrid Testing Program Agronomic Data.
  12. Direct all activities related to the operation of the Corn Operations and Sanitation Departments
  13. Miscellaneous duties according to his/her position or as directed by Senior Management.
  14. Regular and Timely attendance is requirement of all employees.
  15. To know and apply Food Safety Policy principles in relation to all work-related activities and the importance of full compliance of the program.
  16. To know and apply Quality and Food Safety principles and all applicable instructions in all related activities to ensure the achievement of safety objectives.
  17. To know the Food Safety Management System and support in its implementation, maintenance and improvement.
  18. To know and apply Environmental Policy principles while maintaining awareness of related activities and contribute to the program’s successful performance and compliance.
  19. To perform all activities and avoid creating significant environmental impacts by following guidelines established in the Environmental Management Systems documents.
  20. Understand and apply the Environmental Management system documents applicable to my role, with an awareness of the relevance and importance of my activities to achieve EMS objective, including environmental protection and compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  21. Other responsibilities established in the EMS Authority and Responsibility Matrix.

 

EDUCATION SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

  1. Fluent in English (preferably bi-lingual in Spanish, but not required)
  2. College Degree in business, agriculture, or other related area at the discretion of AMLP senior management, as well as one year or more of working experience in a similar position &/or the food industry.
  3. Ability to supervise employees and develop employee strengths.
  4. Ability to direct the operations of the Corn and Sanitation Employees to promote the development and expansion of Azteca Milling LP and promote the objectives of the Senior management of Azteca Milling LP
  5.  Ability to work at elevated heights, confined spaces, and other adverse conditions.
  6.  Ability to learn and follow company Safety procedures and policies.
  7. Ability follow specific work instructions both verbal and written from senior management.
  8. Ability to interact with other employees as well as customers and vendors to create a beneficial work and business environment for all involved parties.
