Under limited supervision, responsible for leading the development of strategic interaction with Regional Field Sales in the execution of sales and growth plans for Walmart/Sams. Function as primary resource between Regional Sales and National Account Vice President on corporate objectives and opportunities in these accounts.
- Direct retail execution into the business process through interaction with Walmart/Sams Field Operations; Mission District Sales Managers, Area Sales Managers, Division Sales Managers
- Ensure national account sales strategy alignment with company strategy to achieve revenue and earnings growth objectives.
- Initiate and maintain relationships with key Walmart Sam’s operational senior leadership.
- Provide cross functional leadership with corporate marketing, customer service, regional vice presidents, and finance to optimize business building opportunities.
- Develop and maintain operating budgets, trade spending, promotions, and all other sales budgets.
- Develop and lead a category management approach for assigned Walmart Sams region.
- Provide strategic plan for future growth opportunities.
- Manage the category advisor responsibilities to ensure agreement with operational management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and 10+ years related sales account management experience required. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Work requires experience in strategically managing accounts.
- Work requires the ability to lead multiple teams and functions having unique goals.
- Work requires the ability to have working knowledge of the assigned Walmart/Sams business practices and processes.
- Work requires ability to utilize syndicated and consumer data, including AC Nielsen, Account’s data systems, and Retail Sales data systems such as Panorama.
- Work requires the ability to draw conclusions, prioritize and recommend key opportunities.
- Work requires the ability to demonstrate leadership, interpersonal, communications and analytic skills.
- Work requires basic knowledge of the grocery industry.
- Work requires knowledge of the current and future climate of the industry to formulate strategies in response to the climate
- 50% travel required
